The small business administration and better business bureau would be your best bet for resources, and ideas.

I do know of a grant program that helps people pursue their dreams and have often recommended this grant program to my clients since it is open to both profit and non-profit endeavors. If I were you I would find out more about this program and see if you qualify because their grant award is currently for $500,000. Unfortunately it is not all paid at one time but if you think you qualify to apply then you should definitely find out more about this particular program since it is a grant program and not a loan program which means if you are granted the award you don't have to pay the money back.

I am a 36 year old female who is tired of living week to week. I have found a location where I would like to start a Laser Tag/Indoor playground. I need to borrow about 250k which could be difficult as I have zero assets. It's also going to be a leased property not purchased. My head is spinning so if someone could point me in the correct direction, I would so appreciate it. thanks,,,yvonne

I am a 48yr mother of 3 adult children who cannot help me. I just started a job paying mininum wage and I can hardly pay my bills, and to top it off I am started school paralegal studies and I need additional help paying for school. Also my credit is poor, I am trying to repair my credit but in the meantime I need a loan to fill in the gap, as I did get some financial aid but not enough. Can someone give info on what I can do?
Thanks

Make sure you have applied for ALL of the student loans and aid that you qualify for. Check out http://www.fafsa.ed.gov if you have not already done so. The school itself might have some aid programs to help pay for your tuition or even your bills. Check with your local public welfare office to see what you qualify for.

I admire your desire to keep and it - you are half of the way to success, you just don't know it yet.
Good luck

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I own 2 small boardwalk stand businesses...one is an attraction and one is a gaming stand. I need funds to make them better and to possibly give the owner and/or employees health benefits. Any advice? I hear because I am a woman there are grants out there. I have no knowledge on where to look. Please email me at fidgit@aol.com thank you so much.

On my page I list information about two different grant programs for people that want to start their own business and one of those programs is open to minorities to apply. Find out more about the program to see if you are eligible. The grant award is $50,000, plus they have a number of smaller grant awards too. Past grant winners were a woman that started her own daycare and another woman that started her own film company. So these kinds of grant programs are out there for those that are serious about wanting to start a business of their own.
You should also check your state's website to see what kind of funding programs they have.

I'm 54yrs old single black woman, laid off a few months ago and can't seem to find a job to support myself; jobs are offering half what I was making! I'm researching opening a "soul food" restaurant, I've not seen any where I live. TUC AZ. In checking into grants I seem to hit a brick wall, does anyone have any idea where I can go to? Thanks

Have you tried researching online for these kinds of grant programs?
One of the biggest arguments around is that this information is freely available on the internet.
